In what ways have the digital badges and micro-credentials made an impact on you?
Digital badges and micro-credentials have honestly pushed me to step outside of my comfort zone. They encouraged me to invest time in areas and skills I probably would not have prioritized on my own. Instead of just focusing on what came naturally or what was required, I had to be more intentional about growing in new spaces. That process stretched me, but it also built confidence. They helped me realize that growth does not just happen within your major or your main responsibilities; it happens when you choose to lean into opportunities that challenge you.

What was the most eye-opening part of being involved in Pathways?
The most eye-opening part of being involved in Pathways was realizing how much growth happens outside of the classroom. I always thought development mostly came from classes, internships, or leadership roles, but Pathways showed me how intentional reflection and skill-building can completely shift your perspective. It made me more aware of my strengths, but also more honest about the areas I still need to grow in. That self-awareness was probably the most impactful part for me.
What advice would you share with someone thinking about joining Pathways?
If you’re thinking about joining Pathways, I would say just do it and be open to the process. You might not see the impact right away, but if you lean into it and actually reflect, it can really stretch you. It pushes you to step outside your comfort zone and be intentional about your growth instead of just going through college on autopilot. The more effort you put into it, the more you’ll get out of it.
What are your goals after graduation?
After graduation, my goal is to build experience in the agriculture industry while also working toward returning home to be involved in our family’s farming operation. I want to continue learning, growing, and gaining perspective outside of what I already know, but ultimately I hope to bring that knowledge back and apply it in a meaningful way. Agriculture has always been personal to me, and being able to contribute to our operation long term is something I care deeply about. I want to help strengthen it, improve it, and be part of its future.
